Can Verdigris flip? What do you think?

I personally think Verdigris can't flip. However, he could jump, double jump, wall jump, and do this to get onto the ceiling:

This explains him being flipped in Flip Mode and the PPPPPP cover. He could only do it upwards, explaining why Verdigris can't get past the spot Verdigris wasn't able to get past.
What do you think?

What do you think?

Uhm, that's because of software limitations. If that was createentity(x,y,14,0,0) with ANY other colour, than the crewmate  would be unable to flip.  >:(

So, he ABSOLUTELY CAN.
More reasons:
* "Green Dudes Flip" is a reference to "White men can't jump"
*How would he get to his room in the ship? Seriously. jumping and double jumping just don't cut it.
*

Besides the fact that this is disturbing, it doesn't explain anything. Not only are his legs NOT that long (EVER), but what's wrong with being flipped? Geez. Because of ONE stupid roomname, THIS happens.  >:( >:( >:(

I perfectly agree with ShinyWolf, Verdigris not being able to flip because of a room name is stupid. It's like saying mario is gay because of a music in one of the levels.

Changing the vote options. I'm disappointed.

Well, I have some things to say, if you would like me to say it...
But this is only a discussion about Verdigris's abilities to flip, for now.

What.
Someone changed all vote options to "No" while people's votes were still on the option that used to say "Yes".

So..
I'm going to explain some things regarding my theory.
First, Verdigris has amazing wall-jumping ability. However, he can't wall jump on spikes. He can wall jump, as long as he's slightly brushing against a wall. He can go to his room just fine. Also, he can get to half of the screen by double-jumping.
The long leg thing... do you want to hear it?
Oh, and is there a single piece of music by Nintendo that suggests Mario is gay? One that is used in a level? Did Terry not check the room names of the screens in his game?
I'm assuming Verdigris is a green dude, because he's the only green dude in the main game of VVVVVV, and the only one intended to exist.
Captain Viridian has no way of knowing when the player would want to use the abilities Verdigris has.
And just because it's a reference doesn't mean that it was real.
Just saying what I think.
Feel free to say what you think, but remember that this is supposed to be a friendly discussion.

Uhm. It's called a reference.... Like
Quote from: distractionware
Here are some more 8-bit references:
Manic Mine: Manic Miner for the ZX Spectrum [although I think the Yes Men is the most similar room to MM in the game]
It's a Secret to Nobody: Secrets in Legend of Zelda on the NES were marked with "It's a secret to everybody".
Sweeney's Maze: ZZT by Tim Sweeney of Epic Megagames (now famous for Unreal). The monsters here are centipedes from ZZT.
Twisty Little Passages: Zork/Adventure type games

And non-gaming references:
Silverstone Grand V: Silverstone is the usual track for the British F1 Grand Prix
Take the Red Pill: The Matrix
Ascending and Descending: MC Escher picture of the same name
It's not easy being green: Kermit the Frog!  :verdigris:
Green Dudes can't Flip: White men can't jump
Murdering Twinmaker: The Fly

and

Quote from: distractionware
There's a room named "I changed my mind, Thelma" - a reference to Thelma and Louise.

and

Quote from: distractionware
One could just enter it into the address bar and get the appropriate wiki page, but the 1954 FIFA World Cup Final (Vinyl) was one of the most dramatic football games of all time. The supposed-to-be-weak West Germany 3-2'd the expected winner Hungary, and this was very important for the post-war identity of the country.

and

Quote from: distractionware
"Free your mind" and the next room (forgot the name) - Matrix

They work as a tip -- you just have to press "right".

and

Quote from: distractionware
Not a reference to another game, but just a cute little play on words: The room "What Lies Beneath" is directly above one of the rooms with the "LIES" moving across at speed. What lies indeed!

Also, I can hardly believe no-one's mentioned this one yet. That ghost in The Tomb of Mad Carew looks awfully familiar... I think I should remember, only all this flipping up and down is making me Dizzy...

(clickedy-click)

I leave you with the poem "The Green Eye of the Little Yellow God", by J Milton Hayes (bolding mine):

Quote
Quote
    THE GREEN EYE OF THE LITTLE YELLOW GOD
    J Milton Hayes

    There's a one-eyed yellow idol to the north of Khatmandu,
    There's a little marble cross below the town;
    There's a broken-hearted woman tends the grave of Mad Carew,
    And the Yellow God forever gazes down.

    He was known as "Mad Carew" by the subs at Khatmandu,
    He was hotter than they felt inclined to tell;
    But for all his foolish pranks, he was worshipped in the ranks,
    And the Colonel's daughter smiled on him as well.

    He had loved her all along, with a passion of the strong,
    The fact that she loved him was plain to all.
    She was nearly twenty-one and arrangements had begun
    To celebrate her birthday with a ball.

    He wrote to ask what present she would like from Mad Carew;
    They met next day as he dismissed a squad;
    And jestingly she told him then that nothing else would do
    But the green eye of the little Yellow God.

    On the night before the dance, Mad Carew seemed in a trance,
    And they chaffed him as they puffed at their cigars:
    But for once he failed to smile, and he sat alone awhile,
    Then went out into the night beneath the stars.

    He returned before the dawn, with his shirt and tunic torn,
    And a gash across his temple dripping red;
    He was patched up right away, and he slept through all the day,
    And the Colonel's daughter watched beside his bed.

    He woke at last and asked if they could send his tunic through;
    She brought it, and he thanked her with a nod;
    He bade her search the pocket saying "That's from Mad Carew",
    And she found the little green eye of the god.

    She upbraided poor Carew in the way that women do,
    Though both her eyes were strangely hot and wet;
    But she wouldn't take the stone and Mad Carew was left alone
    With the jewel that he'd chanced his life to get.

    When the ball was at its height, on that still and tropic night,
    She thought of him and hurried to his room;
    As she crossed the barrack square she could hear the dreamy air
    Of a waltz tune softly stealing thro' the gloom.

    His door was open wide, with silver moonlight shining through;
    The place was wet and slipp'ry where she trod;
    An ugly knife lay buried in the heart of Mad Carew,
    'Twas the "Vengeance of the Little Yellow God".

    There's a one-eyed yellow idol to the north of Khatmandu,
    There's a little marble cross below the town;
    There's a broken-hearted woman tends the grave of Mad Carew,
    And the Yellow God forever gazes down.
